A range of expertise

The Book – Catherine Jewell. New Resume New Career: Get the Job You Want with the Skills and Experience You Already Have. Alpha/Penguin, 2010.

The Project – Members of the Writers’ Group have served as writer or editor on a number of business titles and topics, including money management for nonprofits, ergonomics, and right livelihood. On this book project, the author had already written extensively on career development, but had not yet done a full-length book. We worked together to develop a book proposal and were able to link her with an agent, who sold the book to a major publisher within a few weeks.

Author’s Testimonial – “Nancy and I worked on a book proposal by phone while I was away on vacation. Together we created a major win—we sold the book!” Catherine Jewell, the Career Passion Coach

The Book – David Goldstein, PhD. Invisible Energy: Strategies to Rescue the Economy and Save the Planet. Bay Tree Publishing, 2010.

The Project – Written by an eminent scientist, this book explains one of the most significant and cost-effective solutions to the energy crisis: reducing energy use through energy-saving technologies. The publisher engaged the Writers Group for a final edit before going to press. Our editor also developed a series of pull quotes throughout the book to highlight the author’s premise with his intriguing data.

Reader Reviews – ““Author David Goldstein, a MacArthur “Genius Award” winner, is a prophet who shows us how to tap into the vein of Invisible Energy to restore what’s most important to us, our economy and the planet we all rely on.” “Highly readable” Amazon reviewers

The Book – Dan Liberthson, PhD. The Pitch is on the Way: Poems about Baseball and Life. Illustrated by Nicolette Ausschnitt. Self-published by the author. 2008.

The Project – This is an exceptional book of poetry by any standard: accessible, human, insightful, compelling. The poet is also a highly accomplished professional writer, but wanted another pair of eyes to look over the manuscript before it went to press. The editor focused on the sequence of the poems and the selection of images. Once the book was completed, The Writers’ Group provided suggestions on publicity and book promotion.

Endorsement – “I have reviewed your book and, quite frankly, it is a joy to read. You have captured the passion of the sport.” Bud Selig, Commissioner of Baseball

Author Testimonial – “Nancy Faass has been an extraordinary help in developing my new book, from cover concept to interior illustration and sequencing… She is a font of creative, market-wise ideas, knows how to fine-tune a book to attract the broadest possible audience, and maximize a book’s esthetic appeal and its commercial prospects.” Dan Liberthson, PhD, professional writer and author
